Who Is Ramzi Yousef?

Not COVID-related, but this came up on Twitter today…

It's unclear if TRADEBOMB mastermind Ramzi Yousef was himself a veteran of the Afghan war -- that is part of his legend, at least. It's certain he worked with Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines, Kuwait's Interior Minister claimed he was a collaborator and a "firestarter" involved in the torching of the oilfields as Saddam retreated in 1991, it seems fairly clear he was a protégé of Dr. Ihsan Barbouti, the London-based Iraqi "fixer" who acted as an middleman for Saddam and Col. Ghaddafi on international terrorism and weapons procurements projects, and Pak intelligence ID-ed him as a jobbing Sunni terrorist contracted by Iraq's al-Mukhabarat for attacks against Iranian/Shiite targets and later for the revenge bombing of the World Trade Center on the second anniversary of Saddam's retreat from Kuwait.
