Been thinking about the “DEEP REAL ESTATE” mystery, which concerns ominous-sounding personal ads placed in the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner in 1976, apparently addressed to “ZODIAC.” Hard to say if the cryptic ads really are Zodiac communiqués, but I here summarize a case for that idea and offer a theory as to an event whose anniversary the ad campaign might be “celebrating.”
